Part 2: The Rebel

From the series, "Unexpected King."

Jesus comes to have dinner with a Pharisee, Simon, and an unexpected guest shows up uninvited. A woman looked down upon by society due to her sin falls at Jesus' feet and cleans them with her tears and expensive perfume. Shocked by her actions and Jesus' acceptance of them, Simon replies, "If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner." Luke 3:39

Just like Simon, we like to call out others' sins to feel better about the sin in our own lives. But the grace of God is not reserved for those who sin less because none of us are sinless. Our focus should shift from our sin to Jesus's unexpected acceptance of us no matter where we are and our posture towards Him when His grace covers us.
