An Honest Mother's Day

This is a day that can be full of celebration, joy, and delight. And it's equally a day that can be pretty complicated. It can cause a sort of identity crisis in us. For some, the day will tell them they are loved. For others, the day will tell them they are forgotten. For some, the day will tell them they are blessed. For others, it will tell them that they are cursed. It’s a day that can celebrate identity but can also hijack it.

It's important to call out these complexities because our identity, who we are and who we believe we are, shape not only how we navigate days like Mother's Day, but also how we show up in the earth as God's beloved.

Being secure in our identities, is what Paul is doing in this first chapter of Ephesians and it's what Pastor Tiana will shepherd us through in the message, "An Honest Mother's Day."
