Hey Fellowship Family,
First off, thank you so much for your generosity over our 8th Anniversary Weekend and thanks for coming out to our Night of Celebration. We had an amazing time of celebrating God’s faithfulness over the last eight years here at Fellowship. Not only that, but we made history. We brought in a civil rights hero, Sarah Collins Rudolph, and we were able to bless her and her husband with a check for $50,000 to help lift the burden of what she experienced in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963. So, thank you for being a church that steps up in generosity and thank you for being a church that cares about justice.
Not only that, but I want you to join me in celebrating the ministry of Dr. Chuck Olson. Chuck and his wife, Pattie, have been serving Fellowship since the very beginning of our church and they’ve served in several capacities from The Locker Room, to marriage ministry, to mentoring, and so much more. I wanted to let you know that Chuck is transitioning off of our staff to focus more intently on his ministry, Lead With Your Life.
Here’s Chuck in his own words:
Church Family — Life is made up of seasons, as Solomon reminds us in Ecclesiastes…and God has graciously called me to begin a new season of ministry. After pastoring for 40 years in the local church, with the last eight here at Fellowship, I will be transitioning off the pastoral team this week.
Serving as one of your pastors has been an incomparable privilege. I have priceless memories of serving alongside so many of you. From LifeGroups to The Locker Room, from Marriage Mentoring to Premarital gatherings. And I have special memories of walking alongside so many of you when the realities of life were hard. In it all, God has been faithful and good. He has blessed me time and time again with a front-row seat to join in His remarkable work of transformation in so many of your lives. And I am deeply grateful.
While my day-to-day pastoring on the Fellowship team is ending, Pattie and I are privileged to be staying in community with you. So, beginning February 1, I will give my full-time focus to Lead With Your Life—a ministry I founded several years ago for the purpose of equipping, discipling and mentoring Kingdom leaders.
As I sign off, as one of your pastors, I encourage you to continue to: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.
With love and gratitude,
As Chuck said, they aren’t going anywhere. They will still be around Fellowship so as you see them at our weekend services, take a moment to say “thank you” for all the work they’ve done over these past several years.
Chuck and Pattie, we’re truly thankful for your tireless work and commitment to our church over the years. We love you and we look forward to worshipping alongside you for years to come.
