A Fellowship Family Update

November 1st, 2019

Dear Fellowship Family,

Almost two years ago I swung for the fences, I was praying big prayers, and I thought “Hey, why not?”

My friend, Pastor Michael Lee, was leaving his role as the senior pastor of a large church in Los Angeles and I thought, “Wow, it would be amazing if we could get Michael Lee here at Fellowship.” We would win big time and well, we did!

Michael has discipled and poured into our people, he has helped launch our missions, and so much more. However, the reality of Michael’s calling, to once again be a senior pastor, was something neither we or he could ignore forever.

Here’s Michael in his own words:

Dear Fellowship Family!

It is with a bittersweet heart that I write this note to inform you that I have resigned as Fellowship’s Pastor of Ministries. My decision to step down is a response to a clear prompting from the Lord to continue His call on my life to preach, shepherd, and lead a congregation.

I wouldn’t trade my time at Fellowship for anything in the world. Sitting at the the feet of one of the greatest communicators of the Gospel I had ever met, Pastor Albert Tate, has been transformative for me. And, witnessing the Holy Spirit move powerfully in and through our Gospel-centered, multiethnic, and intergenerational church time and time again has marked me for life.

My family and I have loved and felt loved by you all. We have developed deep and lasting relationships with many of you and we are thankful to God for allowing us to serve such an amazing congregation. We will treasure each memory and pray for continued spiritual growth and missional zeal at Fellowship.

Please pray for my family and me as we transition and discern our next ministry to serve. We are surrendered to following wherever God leads us.

I have nothing but sweet and special memories of Fellowship and I thank God for the privilege of knowing, loving, and serving you.

In Christ,

Michael Lee

We are so thankful for Michael, the Lee family, and their ministry here at Fellowship. We lament, but we also celebrate that we get to send them out. So join us this Sunday at 9 and 11 am at the Monrovia Campus as we will be honoring Michael and his family for their time here at Fellowship.

Additionally, if you would like to send a thank you note or a note of encouragement to Michael, here is his email address: mykolee777@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you this weekend.

In Him,

Pastor Albert Tate
