Exciting news Fellowship family!

What an amazing Easter Sunday celebration we had praising and rejoicing in the Lord at the Hollywood Bowl! Fellowship received over 60 cards of response from those who attended, both as first time believers and as those recommitting their lives to the Lord. God is up to something BIG here, and we are incredibly blessed to be part of this dynamic movement of His Holy Spirit.

As we have continued to grow in our discipleship as a local church body, it has become obvious that we are in need of some larger office space. Wish you all could have seen our last staff meeting as seventeen people attempted to fill in every nook and seat in the small conference room, with several on the floor! So, we wanted you all to know that this week Fellowship offices officially relocated to 401 E. Huntington Dr., Monrovia (corner of Huntington and California). Our phone number remains the same: 626.239.8109.

We would like to invite each of you who consider Fellowship your church home to attend our Open House on Sunday, May 18, 2-4 PM. Celebrate with us at the "listening party" from 3-4PM as the first broadcast of two new weekly radio shows air on KKLA, 99.5: Made For Fellowship Radio (3:00-3:30PM) and Good News Today Talk Radio (3:30-4PM).

We believe that the mission and vision of Fellowship continues to expand in influence and disciple making initiatives, as we give Him the honor, glory and praise! He is doing a mighty work of His Spirit in and through the sarcrificial service of so many of you and we THANK YOU!

If you were with us this past Sunday, you had the opportunity to pick up a Compassion International sponsorship for a child in Ecuador. We have partnered with Stadia and Compassion International to build two churches in Ecuador, and we are becoming more and more excited about the way our involvement is going to bring hope, healing and new life to this community. Please come prepared to participate this Sunday, if you feel so led, to sponsor the few remaining children and be a part of the Ecuador adventure!

Please take a few minutes to visit our website and look at the KIDZ Summer Day Camp info, as well as other ministry opportunities. Summer is almost here, and we don’t want you to miss out on what's happening!

May we continue to be His light to those He brings across our paths,

Your Fellowship Team

 February 2014

If you’ve been coming to Fellowship for any length of time, you know that our primary focus is on preaching the Gospel with the express purpose of encouraging you to be growing as His disciples. To live in such a way that you are being transformed by what Jesus has done in your life, and what He will continue to do, in and through you, on your journey with Him.

As your Fellowship family, we will not be satisfied to have you just attend church on Sunday mornings, leaving the same way that you arrived. We want to see transformational growth and progression in your life from week to week. We believe that in order to best accomplish this, you need to be in relationship with others.

You cannot live this life in isolation. We want each person who calls Fellowship their church home to be part of a Life Group, to find encouragement and suport and community, as you deal with the issues of life. And we will encourage you, and yes possibly push you, towards growing deep in becoming wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ.

So what is the legacy of a disciple? What are you going to pass on? What will you leave behind? What is your story? What will really have mattered at the end of your life?

It is all about being a fully devoted disciple of Jesus Christ!

Our next few Sunday mornings, we will be learning about what it means to focus on living a legacy of love, hope and generosity. Pastor Albert shared this past Sunday: "The legacy of love will carry you through your most difficult times…your love for Christ, your commitment for Christ, will take you places you never thought you could go…it will take you all the way.”

Looking forward to continuing the journey of discovering what it means to live lives as His disciples.

See you Sunday,

The Fellowship Team

Happy New Year from Fellowship Monrovia!

As 2013 comes to a close, we want to thank you for your faithful and generous contribution toward the work and ministry of Fellowship. Please note that the church office (401 E. Huntington Dr., Monrovia) will be open for the year end giving until 4 PM on Tuesday, December 31, and online giving available at: http://madeforfellowship.com/giving-online.html

As we look ahead to 2014, please mark your calendars for our exciting upcoming Second Year Anniversary of Fellowship, when celebrations will occur on two weekends.

Sunday morning, Jan.19, we are privileged to have Dr. Gregory Waybright, Senior Pastor of Lake Avenue Church, preach in our services at 9 AM and 11 AM. And the following Sunday, Jan. 26, Pastor Bryan Loritts, Lead Pastor of Fellowship Memphis, will share with us in the morning services.

On Saturday evening, Jan. 25 @ 6 PM in the Monrovia High School's Event Center, we will honor Dr. John Perkins with the Living Legend Award, as well as hear a celebratory message from Pastor Tom Hughes, Co-Lead Pastor of Christian Assemby. Immediately following this service, there will be an After Party beginning at 8 PM in the H.S. gym. (Childcare will not be provided for this evening.)

The Fellowship Team extends to you our love and gratitude for having joined us on the adventure of our church plant here in the Monrovia community, and look forward with enthusiasm to planting a church in Ecuador this coming year.

Happy New Year!

December 2013

Dear Fellowship Family,

As we reflect upon this past year, we are overjoyed and humbled as we realize the gifts of service and blessing you have so willingly and sacrificially given to the work of the Gospel here at Fellowship.

Throughout the year, your generosity has made it possible for lives to be changed in a number of ways:

  • 400+ people were involved in our Marriage enrichment opportunities which included Mentoring, Pre Marital Classes and Marriage Conference

  • 450+ people got involved in Life Groups

  • 200+ meals blessed those experiencing a need or difficult time

  • 250+ men responded to the challenge of joining the Locker Room

  • 3,000+ people are expected at Miracle on Myrtle at the park this Friday, Dec. 15 (5pmsnow 4 the kids & 7pm celebration program)

  • unknown numbers of people joining together as we plant a church in Ecuador (Come this Sunday, Dec. 15, to be part of the adventure! We are expectant of raising $80,000 through your sacrificial giving towards this endeavor, partnering with Compassion International and Stadia.)

We can’t help but be reminded of chapter 58 in the book of Isaiah where it talks about spending ourselves on behalf of the poor and needy. God has incredible blessings in store for those who give generously of themselves and their finances for the benefit of others.

Our hope and prayer for Fellowship is that we will continue to grow as a generous people; giving so that we might be a blessing to others.

His grace and peace surround you this Christmas season,

The Fellowship Team

Miracle in Ecuador

Fellowship is connected with a church planting organization called Stadia. Stadia has a direct partnership with Compassion International. Basically, Compassion International wants all of their sponsored children to be connected to a local church within their own communities. There are many areas that need aid and children to be sponsored, but Compassion will not go into those areas unless a church is established.

Stadia works with Compassion to train pastors and plant churches so that the children can then be sponsored in those areas. Fellowship has committed to raising the funds to establish a church in an area of Ecuador that needs children to be sponsored. We are in the very preliminary stages of the church plant. Our hope is to have the money to establish the church raised by the end of this year. Stadia will then work to secure and train a local pastor. Compassion will be involved with making sure the children in need are given sponsorships.

Fellowship's continued role will be sponsoring children and taking trips down to the church for service projects, encouragement, and in order to spend time with our sponsored children.

Thanksgiving Message from Pastor Albert 2013

At Fellowship, we're thankful for big things like our community of worship gatherings and Life Groups and SERVE teams, and for small things like coffee and donuts (yes, they are coming back!), and for you – the multi cultural intergenerational family God has put together to be His light and hope here in our local community of Monrovia and beyond.

We want to invite you to give thanks with us. Let us know how Fellowship has impacted your life, your family, and your circles. Let's share together around our Thanksgiving tables, His goodness, faithfulness, and sustaining hand of redemption, provision and care in our lives.

God has strategically positioned us here in Monrovia and given us dreams to expand our influence in a number of ways. This next year we will see Fellowship expand with a Duarte campus, partnership occurring with the LA Church Planting Movement, and the launch of a church in Ecuador by combining our efforts with Stadia and Compassion International.

As we look ahead to closing this calendar year, we ask you to pray about giving a special year-end gift to ensure we finish 2013 strong. It is a joy to partner with you in sacrificial giving, as an act of worship. May our gifts go to this end: "His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth (in Monrovia, the greater Los Angeles area, and Ecuador) as it is in heaven."

Deeply grateful for you, the Fellowship family,

Pastor Albert and the Team

P.S. To provide a special year-end gift to Fellowship, please use this link: http://www.fellowshipmonrovia.com/giving-online.html or mail to the church office: P.O. Box 118, Monrovia CA 91017

November 2013

Dear Fellowship Family,

Our hearts are overflowing at this Thanksgiving time of year! For the daily work of renewal and regeneration He is doing here in our community and beyond, through the lives of you who call Fellowship your church home. We hear your stories each week, of transformation, conviction, encouragement, new beginnings, friendships, His power at work in lives, and we PRAISE HIM! Here is a glimpse of some of them:

Never before have I felt the Spirit move in a church like I did at Monrovia Fellowship this past Sunday!”

“Attending the service Sunday, I was moved to tears as the Spirit was working in my heart. I am grateful to have found my new church home.”

“To see the Spirit move across the room was a sight I will not soon forget. May He get all the glory.”

“I had not been to church in a number of years but felt compelled to attend Fellowship. And I am so glad I did. I am now part of a Life Group, and find joy in being back in Christian community.”

Continue to join with us on this exciting Fellowship journey! It is one that requires commitment of service and community from each one of you, as we grow in discipleship within our Life Groups and strive to live life in circles of community. Opportunities abound for you get plugged in here. From SERVE teams on Sunday mornings, to KIDZ.FM, to the Compassion Care Team, there are openings.

In the past two months you may be aware of several new endeavors we have launched; one of them being The Locker Room. This is our men’s gathering on the first Saturday morning of each month, (next one on Dec. 7 at 7:45am), where the focus is being a man of character in today’s culture. Take some time and check out our Fellowship web site to find out about a whole lot more: www.madeforfellowship.com.

And one reminder about our upcoming Marriage Conference with Jim Burns which will occur on Nov. 15 & 16, Friday night and Saturday morning. Whether you’ve been married one year or twenty, or are in a relationship moving towards marriage, this is going to be a great time of insight and conversation that you won’t want to miss. We do request that you sign up through following link if you are planning to attend:

In closing, we quote words from the book of Acts as our declaration of praise: “And they continued to marvel at the outpouring of His Holy Spirit, and every day their numbers grew as God added those who were saved.”

His abundant blessings surround you this Thanksgiving month,

Your Fellowship Team

P.S. Our annual Miracle on Myrtle at the park is coming on Friday night, Dec. 13. So save the date, and invite your family and friends to attend this fabulous Christmas celebration.

October 2013

Fellowship is a lot like the first-century church. They met publicly--in the temple court. We meet publicly--in the Monrovia High School auditorium. They met personally--in their homes. We meet personally--in our homes.

They PROCLAIMED the Gospel publicly. And they PRACTICED it personally.

guess you could say that "creating circles where discipleship comes alive" has been around for a while. At Fellowship, we don't care much about reinventing the wheel, we just want to use it!

Long story short, if you are serious about being a Christ-follower, than doing life in circles with others is simply not an option, it is essential.

Ever wonder what happens in a circle, a LifeGroup? If so, check this out--an unedited 'field report' from one of our LifeGroup leaders this past week:

"If we were to sum up our first LifeGroup gathering in a word, it would be..... GLORIOUS! AWESOME! INSPIRING! Oh wait! That's 3 words!!

This is the group we've been longing for.....praying for. We have young, we have old, we have married, we have single, we have multi-ethnic. But our COMMON denominator, as everyone shared around the room, is that we want more of Jesus. Not religion. Not formulas. Not relying on past victories or resting on our "laurels". We want more of HIM. More of living by the Holy Spirit.....moment by moment. We hit the ground running. The room was literally buzzing from the first moment. Everyone was talking so much we had to turn the praise music UP!!! LOL! Every person shared how they want to grow, to be REVIVED, to be mentored, to mentor, to be accountable......and released into all that God has for their lives. One of our couples told us they were praying right before they got here and the Holy Spirit gave them such an EXPECTANCY for what God is going to do in this group. We've been sensing the same thing in the Spirit all week. We're all different.......but we were all in ONE accord."

Looking for your next step in following Christ and experiencing His presence and activity in your life in deeper ways?

Then chances are good that joining a circle is for you!

Vision Sunday, September 8, 2013

If you were with us this past Sunday, you joined in the excitement and celebration to how the Lord is leading Fellowship Monrovia to step into some deep and unchartered waters as we follow His call on us as a church community. Being a Gospel centered, multi cultural, intergenerational family, we are intentionally discovering and finding ways to GROW in our walk of faith.

We heard from many on the Pastoral Team share how God is guiding our ministries to ever expand and touch lives with His transforming and restorative power.

Stories were shared from one of our women’s Life Groups about how weekly circle gatherings have impacted their lives.

We glimpsed into some of our YOUNG leaders experiences, and heard their hearts of care for their respective ministries. Becoming, our college group, announced plans for a high energy launch on Sunday, Sept. 29. And we heard that KIDZ.FM is all about being a place where our little ones begin their journey of understanding and believing in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

New ministries for Marriage development and growth were announced, with a Pre Marital class beginning Sunday, Oct. 6 and a Marriage Tune Up weekend to be held on Nov. 15 & 16

We also caught a glimpse of the upcoming Locker Room, a monthly Saturday morning gathering for all Fellowship men, beginning Oct. 12.

And the morning wrapped up with Pastor Albert giving us a broad picture of what our FM GIVE component could look like, with future church plants locally as well as globally in Ecuador.

As we took communion to symbolize our desire to commit ourselves to Him, these words touched us deeply:

“Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour.”
(OCEANS, © 2012 Hillsong Music Publishing)

Do you hear the invitation? Do you sense the mighty work we are being called to? We are expectantly trusting Him to touch each one of you to join us on this Fellowship movement, asking for His hand of blessing and the outpouring of His Spirit to transform lives for His glory.

We'd love to hear stories of the difference Jesus has made in your life. We will select a handful of stories from these submissions to create short videos of "The Difference He Made" in the lives of those in our FM Community.

June & July 2013

We trust you were able to be with us this past weekend as Pastor Albert began a challenging and inspiring new sermon series titled, The Difference He Made. We celebrated the story line of a couple in our church community who gave witness to His transformational power and redemptive hand on their lives. We rejoiced together that He is wanting to grow each of us as His disciples!
This new sermon series offers you a great time to invite your neighbors or friends, your local waitress, your mechanic, your hair stylist, or swim coach or babysitter. All you have to do is ask them to attend with you and you will be amazed at how many will respond positively, and this may be their first step in hearing about God and His love for them.
To keep you updated with summer happenings, here are a few items...(be sure to check out our web site also (www.madeforfellowship.com).
KIDZ.FM  will host a CONNECT 4 fun  summertime evening for ALL FM families, July 12, at Monrovia H.S., 5-7 PM, includes supper ($3.00 per person or $10.00 per family).
YOUNG – Please check out the summer calendar of wild and crazy times lined up for all high school and junior high students (calendar can be found on our web site). You can also contact  young@madeforfellowship.com for more info.
LIFEGROUPS – Most LifeGroups “retire” for the summer and are not meeting weekly. But we would like to encourage you to look for ways to stay connected with one another. Why not invite some new attenders over for a lite summer supper or bar b que, or meet up at the beach, picnic at the park, or go for a hike in the local hills? Let’s all be intentional in our pursuit of living lives in community with one another.
SERVE Teams have a new check in procedure for Sunday mornings. If you are part of one of our volunteer teams, please remember to go to the SERVE tent for your name tag and any updates for the weekend when you arrive on campus. We have openings for volunteers on several teams: Tear Down, Greeter, Usher, & Parking.
And one last matter of family business: Please fill out the offering envelope completely each Sunday, both for check and cash donations, in order to receive a year-end contribution statement as well as for accurate record keeping.
Thanking Him for the Difference He Has Made,

April 2013

What an outpouring of His love and strong testimony to His power that we celebrated this Easter. Witnessing dozens of people making commitments to become Christ-followers, were the best moments of the morning! At our very first Easter service last year in Library Park, we had right around 1,000 attendees. This past Easter Sunday, one year later, we had just under 1,900. I am so thankful for the growth God has given us and what He continues to do in the life of our church.
As we reflect over the last year, we want to thank you for your faithfulness and commitment to supporting the work being done in and through Fellowship Monrovia. Because of your continued financial support and prayers, your sacrificial gifts have enabled us to become fully self-supporting and end our first fiscal year as a church plant in the black! (It takes most church plants three years to be self supporting.) Over the past year and a half we have been able to make significant Kingdom investment in the Monrovia area. We have begun to build our Life Group Ministry, Young Ministry, multiple outreach programs in our local schools, tripled our ministry team, and we are just scratching the surface. In the coming months, we look forward to sharing our vision and goals of where the Lord is leading Fellowship.
In reflecting, I want to take a moment to personally acknowledge and thank Fellowship Monrovia’s Board of Directors, as well as my mentors and coaches, who have walked tirelessly with me. The men listed below have provided vital spiritual covering, accountability, and Godly counsel.

Jack Hamilton
Executive Pastor of High Desert Church,
and member of Fellowship Monrovia’s Board of Directors

Brent Eldridge
Senior Pastor of Lakewood Baptist Church, and member
of Fellowship Monrovia’s Board of Directors

Marc Little

Chief Operating Officer of Faithful Central Bible Church,
and member of Fellowship Monrovia’s Board of Directors

Bryan Loritts
Senior Pastor of Fellowship Memphis
long term mentor

Dr. Greg Waybright
Senior Pastor of Lake Avenue Church
mentor and coach

Ray Johnston
Senior Pastor of Bayside Church,
mentor and coach

Bishop Kenneth Ulmer
Senior Pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church,
mentor and coach

Steve Sommers
Legal Counsel

May we all continue to dream and pray for God’s wisdom as we work to expand His Kingdom in Monrovia, the surrounding communities, and beyond. Big things are ahead!
Thank you again for your faithfulness,
Albert and the FM Team
